Appeal for Help

In July 2013, a government official asked me to generate funds for a kid named Zain suffering from cancer. I posted about him here. You helped, Thank You and Jazaakum Allah Khaira. In September 2014, I came across a retired soldier who needed funds for his son's marriage and posted about him here (scroll down to September 10, 2014 on my Facebook timeline for complete post). You helped again, Thank You again and Jazaakum Allah Khaira. Now, I'm back with another appeal.

This time, the opportunities are multiple and the goal rather daunting. Its 3 people from 3 different families and the goal is to raise Rs 1,00,000 in each case. Rs 3,00,000 is a large amount for any one person to set aside for charity, and we don't have much time, at least in one case. The people in need of help are:

1. An old lady from a village near Wazirabad, who needs surgery to fix her heart. An old contact I came across 2 years ago while trying to generate funds for Zain recently approached me for help in this case. The lady needs Rs 1,00,000 immediately for surgery. The lady will accept donations directly at home and via Money Order etc. Doctors can help with their time. For the next couple of days, she'll be in Lahore. [[MOST URGENT]]

2. An old man from a village near Sargodha, who needs funds for his daughter's wedding. I came across the gentleman in Islamabad about a month ago. He was in need of Rs 21,000 to settle a debt he'd incurred after his elder daughter's wedding. The man who'd loaned him the money harassed him so much that he left his girls at home and came to Islamabad looking for help. Couple of people here helped settle his debt. This time, he's looking for donations and is not ready for loans. He doesn't have any collateral to secure any loans and no steady source of income. He will accept donations directly at home and via Money Order etc. [[URGENT]]

3. Zain's parents need funds for a daughter's wedding. They're from Gujrat. The same contact approached me in this case too. I know the family: I met them when Zain was under treatment at Shifa International Hospital, Islamabad. They'll accept donations directly at home or via Money Order etc. [[PRIORITY]]

For the sake of their privacy, I'm not publishing the identities and contact details of these people in this post. If you're interested in helping them out call me, drop me a mail or leave a comment on the blog post / Facebook post and I'll get back to you with details. I'm very committed these days and will appreciate if you reach out to the families directly. I'll also appreciate if you let me know how much you contributed so that I can keep track of the funds raised and inform you when the goal is achieved.

How can You help:
1. Reach out to the families and ascertain the validity of their claims. Authenticate this post with your comments.
2. Contribute funds. Contribute time and medicine if you're a doctor.
3. Mobilize others. Spread the word.

Thank you very much.

Cancer Patient Requires Urgent Help

A 15 years old boy, suffering from blood cancer is hospitalized in Shifa International Hospital, H-8, Islamabad. The kid is scheduled for bone marrow transplant in the near future. He comes from a very poor family; his father is a construction laborer from Gujrat; the kid has six sisters. Some 2 months ago, he was covered by Geo TV and a Mr Wahid Zaidi, a businessman from Faisalabad contacted the family. He's been covering the medical expenditures to date on his own. Now, his accounts are running low.

The child needs money. His bills are likely to run close to 20 lac PKR. Currently he's being treated at Shifa International's Clinic for the Poor, which offers 30% rebate on the treatment. As of Saturday, 27 July 2013, the family owed the hospital around 5 lac PKR. The hospital regretted the kid any further treatment. Mr Wahid Zaidi managed another 2,30,000 PKR to continue the treatment.

The kid needs blood. Lots of blood. Today, the hospital advised the family to arrange 10-12 units / bottles of blood. Couple of units have been arranged, many more are required. Please help.

Details of the patient are:
Muhammad Zain s/o Muhammad Saeed
Shifa International Health Management System Patient ID / Account Number: EA5817
Block G-1, Wing 4, Isolation Room

I requested my father to look into the case. He visited the child, spoke to the family and Mr Wahid Zaidi. My father says, the case is legit and the kid really needs help.

Its Ramadan. The last 'Ashrah as well. This is our chance to help a child in need. From what the Last Apostle of Allah told us, Allah comes to His men asking for food, clothes and help. When men like us help men like these, the Apostle said, we actually help Allah. And Allah doesn't forget. He repays His debts for sure: in this world on in the Hereafter.

Please help as much as you can. The donations must be made directly to Shifa International Hospital against the patient's account to help continue the treatment and maintain transparency. The hospital acknowledges the receipt of funds in writing. Please help with blood if you're healthy. Please help save a mother's child.

I'll keep updating the information. Please keep checking and contributing.

Our country is going to the dogs. Its people like Mr Zaidi who are breathing life into Pakistan's veins. Join them. Or, like I've said earlier, we'll continue on our downward spiral towards oblivion.

EDIT / UPDATE 1 (01 August 2013)

Thanks fly out to all those who helped with money and blood. The hospital is discharging the kid since they say they can't help with cancer cure. The kid needs to be shifted to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital at Lahore. From what ever homework Mr Wahid Zaidi has done at his end, the hospital may regret to treat the kid. Still, some fellow there has offered to look at the case. Help us pull some strings at SKMCH and get the kid in there. Mr Zaidi will be out of the country for couple of days and a Ms Aniqa, known to the family, will take over from him for the duration of his stay abroad. My father will also keep on checking.

As of tonight (10 PM PST, 31 July 2013), the family needs around PKR 1,78,000 to cover the hospital expenses. The figure is likely to cross PKR 2,00,000 by the time he's discharged. The kid also needs 3-4 more units of blood. Please help.

Blood can be donated at the Blood Bank against the patients's MR # EA5817. Cash payments can be made against the same MR# at the Administration Office.

A hospital insider has said he can get the family a rebate on the final payment amounting to PKR 1,70,000. But that's not final. If it happens, the money can be sent back to you if the kid doesn't make it in to SKMCH. Or else it will be deposited with SKMCH and fund receipt acknowledged in writing.

EDIT / UPDATE 2 (02 August 2013)

The kid was discharged by the hospital on 01 August. The family is trying to get him in SKMCH. Please help.

The family got a rebate of PKR 1,70,000 on the final payment. The balance amount was cleared through donations.

EDIT / UPDATE 3 (30 August 2013)

The kid expired on 27th of Ramadan. Ms Aniqa contacted me on 13th of August with the news. I was unable to update the post due to personal reasons.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilaehi raaji'oon.

I have donations from the following gentlemen with me.
Mr AK - PKR 3,000
Mr UN - PKR 50,000
Please let me know what to do with it gentlemen.

Is this Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain?

We all remember the "light" side of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain amply highlighted in the behind-the-scenes video footage leaked in August 2011. We remember the lies, the accusations; handiwork of a master charmer. We remember how he finally confessed to being nasty off-air. That pretty much says it all about his religious authenticty. You can read more about the episode on Wikipedia here, or can view the videos online.

I recently stumbled upon this image while refreshing my study on "Mehdism". The image is used on Wikipedia and can be seen here. Apparently the image has been uploaded by the actual author of the image and shows a "representative" of the Messaiah Foundation International / Mehdi Foundation International (previously Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi International) presenting a memento to famous "Sufi" qawwals Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Ghulam Farid Sabri. The representative apparently is none other than our home-grown Generation Y "scholar" Liaquat Saheb. Or maybe he is a look alike?

If it is Amir Liaquat Hussain in the image, he's not the only Generation Y "scholar" who was involved with non-Muslim preachers in their youth. Zaid Zaman Hamid is another famous Generation Y "analyst", whose involvement with Yousuf Kazzaab made it to the press, but somehow didn't make it to the primetime news.

Youm e Takbeer

Post delayed due to domestic commitment.

Today our nuclear weapons program turns 13. It is the guarantee to our national security and our survival in a tough world. Or so our higher-ups tell us.

In 1998, when we first detonated a device, it was not a policy goal achieved. It was a response to successful Indian tests conducted 17 days earlier. Indians had achieved a policy goal: they had tipped the balance of power in their favor and caught us unaware at the same time. In the next few days, they experienced an uncontrollable, wild testosterone surge and like drunk thugs, everyone from the shoemaker to the statesman started raising hell. On 18 May 1998, Indian Home Minister L. K. Advani while referring to the Indian tests said, “Islamabad should realize the change in the geostrategic situation in the region and the world (and) roll back its anti-Indian policy, especially with regards to Kashmir.” He also said that, “India’s decisive step to become a nuclear weapons state has brought about a qualitatively new stage in Indo-Pak relations, particularly in finding a lasting solution to the Kashmir problem.”1 BJP’s VP K. L. Sharma warned, “if Pakistan continued its anti-India policy, Pakistan should be prepared for India’s wrath.”2 Although Indian Prime Minister Vajpayee said that India would never use the bombs “for aggression”, the Indian definition of aggression is at best, controversial.3 And given our strategic blindness, the Indian definition of aggression is music to the world’s ears. Let’s not forget that in 1971, Mrs Indira Gandhi made no effort to mask her wanton, overt aggression against East Pakistan, while the world sung praises of the ‘restraint’ she had exercised in tackling the situation.

Responding to the Indian threats and mockery, on 14 May 1998, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said, “Pakistan must give priority to its security needs and has no option but to take appropriate measures to protect its sovereignty and security, in accordance with the aspirations of the people.”4 Although, the statement shifts the responsibility of any subsequent action from the shoulders of the premier to the shoulders of the people, it also reflects clearly on one more thing: unlike the rest of nuclear capable states, Pakistan was cornered into becoming one. While on the other hand, India just like United States and Soviet Union before her, had achieved nuclear warmongering capability without any real threat being posed to her integrity and had along the way created an environment favorable for slow destabilization of the region. This is something which the world is not ready to (realize and) admit and we are not ready to (realize and) understand. This unique attribute common to the three nations hints on the underlying similarities that these apparently diverse and very different nations enjoy; the relationship now apparently lost in the complexities of the present day political order. A testimony to this fact is the unconditional American moral, political, economic and military support enjoyed by India in all Indo-Pakistan conflicts despite the fact that Pakistan was the only American ally in the region throughout the Cold War era, while India flocked with America’s arch nemesis Russia.

Having enemies is not a must for survival in a world where a universal morality prevails. The same is not true in a world where not only different moralities exist in different geographical locations, but more often than not find reasons to collide. It is important to remember that the choice of enemies is more important than the decision of having or not having enemies. Historically speaking, we’re the proverbial blonde, having all the wrong men in her life. But then the blonde doesn’t complain, because her taste reflects in her wrong choice of men.

Our choice of enemies has been not in line with our morality and has over the years skewed our choice of friends and moreover, damaged our relationships with our real friends. With the wrong enemies, we failed to have the right friends, and today this cauldron of boiling stew of dangerous liaisons with worthless friends and dangerous enemies has fallen off the stove starting a fire. What we believe in our hearts, must be reflected in our actions. Our morality must have preference over our short term survival goals. Our morality has to be defended at all cost, as it will lead us to safety. It is the only way we’ll learn to identify the real enemy and find and value real friends.

The first step that we have to take today, without any further delay is to revert to the roots of our morality. The morality of the Pakistani nation stems from the Islamic creed, and not political and economic theories of self preservation, indirect colonialism, dual faced diplomacy, and exploitative “free” markets stealing freedom of the under privileged. Our morality surpasses any and all modern systems of moral values in granting and ensuring freedom of religion, occupation, intellectual exercise, and “pursuit of happiness” while regulating the overall social system with strict social values, laws and economic bindings which ensure long term survival of the complete society and deter exploitation and extinction of one segment of the society at the hands of the other. But this all sounds theoretical and impractical today, thanks to our persistent wanton detachment from our moral roots ever since we earned our freedom from colonial aliens and their ever aggressive native foot soldiers. We were born of the Two Nation Theory which has its roots in none other but the Islamic creed. Contrary to the great examples of the wonderful governance of Umar bin al-Khattab Al-Farooq, Umar bin Abdulaziz, Salahuddin Ayyubi and Suleman e ‘Azam to name a few, we have presented before the world such a miserable example of an Islamic governance that the world said:
“When he drew lines across the Indian subcontinent, Mountbatten listened too sympathetically to those who took religion more seriously than geography…. Pakistan was a ‘state’ created from above for reasons of political expediency. So the lesson is simple if not a hard one: That such artificial structures cannot survive. How much human misery must be endured before the fact is accepted.”5

“In insisting on the creation of a separate state, Jinnah and the Muslim League had given birth to a ‘pantomime horse’”.6

“[Pakistan is a] premature and abortive attempt to establish one sovereign authority for two distinct countries.”7

“The essential irrationality of Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s version of Pakistan is now writ large enough for all the world to see.”8

It is an unforgivable failure on our part to have let the situation rot to the point where the world criticizes our misdeeds and mistakes while in fact targeting Islam. We forgot the reason of our existence and did all we could to prove our fore fathers wrong. We were born on the principal of unity of Muslims and equality for all, and we shunned them both years ago.

It is to be remembered, that the western morality is subject to change in “pursuit of happiness”, while our morality is unchanging. This is the only reason that today or tomorrow, we will have to part ways. West has evolved from modesty to nudity in “pursuit of happiness”, we cannot. West has moved from personal freedom to capitalist fascism in “pursuit of happiness”, we cannot. The collision of moralities within our borders today is a result of our staying out of touch from our morality for so long, that part of us now identifies with the walking-dead western moral model, while a major part has misinterpreted the Islamic creed to suit personal agenda. In addition, a vast majority of Muslims; who are moderate indeed; is being ground to dust between the two.

Our nuclear arsenal will not save us from anything or anyone. It may as well become the reason of our final and most arduous test as a nation.9 It is our lack of a collective identity and collective purpose that will always lead us to failure. We have billions of dollars worth of gold under our dirt, and we beg.10 We give Google, Bentley and NASA their best thinking minds and we’re intellectually bankrupt as a nation. We are men and women, worthy of respect, second to none, and here we are eating dust day in and day out, at the hands of people, who put beasts to shame with their moral decadence. There is nothing wrong with the world: we lie, we cheat, we steal, we kill, we rob, we rape, we’re stuck neck deep in usury, we exploit and be exploited. And we’re guilty of the worst collective, national crime of all: we’re unaware of our history, both its glory and its dark days.

If you want these bombs to work for you, return to the roots of your morality. Take a break, sit down and think, what all in your routine is contrary to Islamic morality. Do your relations with your parents, siblings, friends, neighbors and your extended family meet the standards set by Islam? Does charity hold importance for you? When was the last time you paid your alms/zakat? Are you in any way involved in usury? Do you weigh/measure correctly and with diligence? Do you dispense your official duties carefully and appropriately? Do you in any way abuse power, status, influence, office? Do you lie and cheat in the name of diplomacy? Are you faithful to your spouse? Do you drink or consume narcotics? Do you waste resources wantonly? Are you a mindless super-size consumer? My dear friend, if the bad outweighs the good in your self assessment, you’re equally responsible like so many others for the present miserable plight of this country, for we have acquired this rot over the past 6 decades and not overnight.

Islam doesn’t appeal to emotion, it appeals to 2 human faculties and 2 alone: reason and faith. The Prophet told us long ago that when evil will prevail in your society, you will be punished in a special way: you will be made subject to bad rulers. And that is what has befallen us.

So when some emotionally charged soothsayer says all is well, just slow down and think. When someone energetically points to the bright side of the situation, reign in your emotions and turn to reason to assess the situation. You’ll see that today, nothing is as rosy as some talkers tell you. But don’t lose faith, if you know what I mean.

Remember: the buck stops here. We are responsible for our plight and none other. We have to change. There is no revolution simmering behind the scenes, unless we return to our moral roots, which spring from the Islamic creed: Qur’an and Sunnah(including Hadith). If you’re willing to change, Bismillah. Or else, you’ve already joined the Treason Club.

Nawishta e Deewaar

Came across these two ACU patches made by Mil-Spec Monkey for the US Army:

And this shirt too:

Is it a 'War on Terrorism' or a 'Crusade'? I'm confused. The slogans have nothing to do with peace and terrorism and everything to do with Islam and Kufr. It's not peacekeepers hunting terrorists, it's Islam in the cross hairs of self styled 'infidels'.

This is not clothing people. This is graffiti.

Remember, remember.
Khwarzim and Baghdad.

Right around the corner is the day when these patches will be embroidered in Brahvi, Sindhi, Pashto and Urdu.

Our fate has been sealed...

Inna lillah

Now I thank God Almighty for having been born in Pakistan where I have a slightly higher risk of having to sleep on an empty stomach then the average American, but where I can say what I deem is right and still not go to jail. Here men can wear a beard if they want and women can cover their heads with scarves if they like. Here I don't fear persecution at the hands of bigots preaching 'freedom' of sex and religion and speech and action in the media all the while killing unarmed cameramen in the name of 'Iraqi Freedom' in the battle field.

Enough said.

It's good however to see that Americans are not brainless veggies as most of us in the rough parts of the world like to believe. Well atleast not all of them are veggies. Some of them actually think! And are able to tell right from wrong! Below are actual comments on the famous Apache video leaked by Pfc. Bradley E. Manning, made by users identifying themselves as Americans*. The comments are from the Blip.tv page**.

I quote:

militaryvet said:
Funny how every time we (the military) gets sent somewhere to fight it's always "for our freedom". Not so funny is the fact that when we get back home, we find that we have less freedom than when we left. In addition, I don't see anyone in any of those countries doing ANYTHING to take my freedom away...or -for that matter- any way that they could. Not to say that they may not WANT to after we've spent much time in their country.... So, when it comes to "fighting for our freedom", I can confidently that it isn't what's happening here. Don't try to whitewash what's going on with that poor excuse. It isn't true.

noneofyourbusiness said:
I was there actually. Infact the first shots fired in this engagement were fired about 10 feet in front of me from an upper window in a building to my left. Fortunatly the service member they were aimed at hit the dirt and only suffered a sprained ankle. After that we started to recieve more small arms fire and sniper fire from some of the rooftops. This all took place about 50 meters down the road from where the insurgents were shot by the apache. when we arrived at the location of the secondary ambush we recovered several AK-47s and 2 RPGs. We also discovered the two children in the van, removed them and gave them medical attention along with the survivors who had planned to kill us.Now for the van and the reporters. we have been in iraq for a long time now. these people are not stupid! when they see a group of militia walking down the street in the direction of americans they know to go inside and stay put! whenever we get struck by an IED the streets are empty! the only people around are the ones with hostile intent. that being said. we can exclude a reporter. its too bad that he died, but he knew the risks of what he was doing!so pvtdaniels... and the rest of the world, you are wrong. I do commend your outstanding morals though. This time however, you and the public, are unimformed as to the reality of the situation.

militaryvet said:
This time however, you and the public, are unimformed as to the reality of the situation.Sounds like that's the case. However, given the way our country is supposed to work, there is no reason for the people NOT to be informed about the reality of the situation. "WE" are supposed to decide, not a bunch of corrupt politicians using propaganda and slanted viewpoints to manipulate public opinion. And again, nobody in that country can do squat to take our freedom away from us. Only our "leaders" in DC can do that. Our presence there has nothing to do with "fighting for our freedom". Well, that's not quite true. Our presense there creates good excuses for taking our money -and our freedom- away from us. When you come/came back home, did you find that you had more freedom? Or less?

End of quote.

What Americans fail to understand is that the problems they 'created' by their arrogant, capitalist policing of the world in the past 60 years*** can't be undone the way they're trying to: by arrogantly, 'capitalistly' policing the world. Americans create newer enemies by the day, and squander earth's resources fighting them, all the while killing innocent men, women and children. And then they have the cheeks to PowerPoint the world about population-resource balance. They actually win Nobels for PowerPoints on Global Warming for God's sake!

The End is near.
Inna lillah.

Endnote:
Americans: Go home. Leave us alone. You're not welcome on Muslim territory when you flash your brand of 'freedom' in our face. We've had enough. If its science, art or literature you want to talk about, we are friends. Else, go home and take your crappy fast-food with you. It clogs arteries and tastes bad. What you did out there shall remain in our hearts, and never be forgotten.
Muslims: Read Quran. Be good Muslims. And hold the Rope tightly!

O you who were robbed of life unjustly, rest in peace. Your blood shall not go in vain. Rest in peace, we shall meet soon.

*** 'The Muslim World', Chapter 5 of 'Sieze the Moment' by Richard Nixon says it all. The patronizing monologue reveals how America behaves around Muslims and hints on why there are suicide bombers with beards everywhere today. Please note that Islam neither preaches, nor condones indiscriminate, wanton killing. Market places, schools and hospitals are NOT battlefield for Muslims. The elderly, women and children are protected by Islamic law. Don't forget that more Muslim Pakistani civilians die every day at the hands of these suicide bombers created and brought up on American money in Pakistan than non-Muslim American soldiers die in a month (in some cases a year) in combat in Iraq.

Palestine: Speed Sisters

CNN recently reported on the 'Speed Sisters': young Palestinian women racing cars in Ramallah, Palestine. While I'm happy for the Sisters, I can't help but feel the irony of the situation: the British first give Palestinians the gift of Israel, now they give them a trainer to coach their girls' racing team.
They certainly have come a long, long way.

What? And what for?

Realism and idealism are two distinct ways to approach life and its problems. Both have their own pros and cons. When applied to various aspects of a given problem, most of the time, both yield unique results or lead to conclusions that are mutually exclusive in all respects.

The media preach realism when it comes to policy, foriegn affairs and international relations as viewed in the context of history. The media preach idealism when it comes to entertainment and lifestyle as handed down by the show-biz.

I wonder why.

Everybody Draw Muhammad Day

I have been thinking lately about things I have been thinking about all my life for a myriad of reasons. One such thing is the fact that grows on me with every passing day: God does exist.

That being said, all random pieces of crap logic, demented behavior and other enlightened BS being extended to Muslims every hour of the day fall into place.

I was mortified to see Muslims debasing Jesus and Moses in retaliation to this absurd event of uncivilized, inhumane, unethical and intolerable "freedom of expression". We MUST abstain from retaliating to servants of their temporal and carnal desires by slandering Prophets of God. Please, remember: Musa (Moses), Eesa (Jesus) and Muhammad are ALL Prophets of Allah and merit our deepest and unconditional respect and love.

Please stop making poo on the road in response to all the world making poo on our lawn. We, Muslims are better than this. We are civilized. We are respectable. I suggest, you retaliate by becoming better Muslims: by not lying, by keeping your promises, by minding your language whenever you open your mouth, by respecting elders and loving young ones. Retaliate by being even more regular in your 'ibadah: prayers, alms, month long fast of Ramadan, Hajj and Jihad. And you know, Jihad is NOT synonymous with blowing your self up in a shopping mall packed with women and children or a hospital or in a college. Convince your sisters, mothers, wives and daughters to be good Muslim women and be modest. Make your children look upto Muslim heroes; by self example of course; instead of heroes borrowed from mindless slaves of desires and appetites. And then, when the time comes, join the ranks of the Promised Messiah.

We tend to forget that our lives are meaningless in the overall scheme of events. If we want to leave our mark on history, we better make a concsious effort for that. Or like I always say, our downward spiral into oblivion leads us on a one way trip to - oblivion.
And no where else.

Holocaust Reinvented

"A picture is worth a thousand words."

Below I have provided pictures I recieved from a friend in e-mail today. They narrate a bloody tale that would otherwise take tomes to expound. It is powerful; it is soul reaving; it is painful. And it merits our prompt, profound attention. These images hint at the depths to which humankind can fall with no remorse and no regrets. They tell us how we fail to learn from our collective mistakes and repeat them over and over, mercilessly and; more tormentingly; shamelessly. They point to where we're headed: spiralling downwards into oblivion.

The B & W image to the left in each image pair is a glimpse of 'Nazi' terror of the yester years; the color image to the right captures 'Ashkenazi' terror of today.

What I find devastating is the indifference, immorality and cruelty with which we transfer our madness and disease to our young, guaranteeing a continued viscious cycle of injustice, atrocity, suffering, and hateful, agitated existence. We seem content with sowing and reaping evil. And love bragging about it.

What the Nazis are touted to have done to Jews decades ago is being dispensed to Gentiles today, at the hands of Ashkenazis. An event, many serious scholars call the biggest hoax of 20th century is lamented upon, cried for and remembered. Those who question its various aspects are silenced or crucified. At the same time, genocide of a people is being conducted today and the brave members of the free world are busy golfing, clubbing, picking stocks, playing catch and having fun. And then there are others who want to curb violence with violence.

What we need to understand is that our lives as we know them are meaningless individually. That we need to focus on collective survival. That we need to tolerate each other and facilitate peaceful co-existence. It must be understood that this is not possible without bringing about change in the way we see things and the way we think.

Live and let live. Only possible when we give more and take less.

Create and favor change. Sacrifice. Your favorite side of the bed, your seat in the bus, your favborite T-shirt, food, money, time, emotion and cravings. Give more. Take less. Offer more. Ask for less. Our survival and salvation depends on it.

Me'raaj e Insaan

Human kind is moving ahead at lightning speed. Faster computers, smarter AI, pricier drugs and weapons more lethal than ever. Still briefer clothes and less of morals.

Playboy has been an icon of a plethora of such parameters by which we tend to measure our canter into the future: fashion for men, style for men, gadgets for men; what and what not for men. In between the lines, it has been setting standards for human kind's morals as well or at least reflecting on them boldly. Take a look at some sisterly images captured by Playboy photographers that were immortalized by the magazine:

Frame 1. Clockwise from top left: Shane and Sia Barbi (January 1993), Nicole, Jaclyn and Erica Dahm (December 1998), Mirjam and Karin Van Beeschooten (September 1989) and Natalie and Jennifer Campbell (December 2008)

Frame 2. Clockwise from top left: Madeleine and Mary Collinson (October 1970), Mandy and Sandy Bentley (May 2000), Rosie and Renee Tenison (August 2002)

How sisterly.

And now Hef's 2 newest gal pals, sisters Kristina and Karissa Shannon:

Frame 3.

Frame 4.

Frame 5.

Frame 6. Bunny Factsheet

Notice how bunnies Kristina and Karissa Shannon 'pose' with their happy-go-lucky 'dad' Patrick (Frame 6, bottom middle), who is enjoying every moment of the attention his daughters attract. Of course, Mr Hefner pays Patrick's daughters well for doing human kind the favor of revealing their assets and there's a lot of young booty to devour at the Mansion parties Patrick attends with his girls. It's a win-win situation for everyone.

Proud, lucky dad.

The Bunny Factsheet tells us, Kristina and Karissa are turned on by tall, dark and handsome men who have good hygiene. They also love every day they spend at the Playboy Mansion with Hef; they're Hef's girlfriends. While their mutual boyfriend seems to turn them both on quite well, the sisters are taller than Mr Hefner (Mr Hefner is 5'9"). Hef also needs some tanning and at 89 only as handsome as any other American male his age, which generally isn't that handsome for 20 something blondes world wide (But then Scarlett Johansson has a crush on Sir Connery. It's a complicated world). And Hef's hygiene is a class of its own (read this). Even though their lover falls a little short of their turn-on standards, the Shannon twins are glued to the Mansion 24/7.

Who are Kristina and Karissa in love with then? You guessed it right. The old gentleman's tall, dark and handsome chequebook.

Today, people don't have time for what they need, don't have enough of what they want and don't know what they love. It's a screwed up world where we live in the grey zone between black and white; black scares us shitless and white is too much for us to handle. We believe we evolve, while all we do is consume more and more bottled water and MREs and become more efficient polluters of the planet. We measure our growth in terms of GDP and other similar acronyms and intimidate our foes with facts and figures while impressing our pals with graphs and pie-charts. Our bodies feed on decaffeinated, sugary junk and our egos on dot-com bubbles, economic masterpieces and status symbols. We'd rather go naked than wear fur and would rather invest in stocks than in education. We intend to conserve fossil fuel and go green but tend to make and sell and buy more and more Hummers and Escalades. We need social, religious and ethnic tolerance which sure needs high morals when we jerk off to naked siblings groping at each other's curves. And then we have dads that love to showcase their kids titties for money. Of course the kids sleep with successful, rich old men for money. You don't need a Webster's Collegiate to know its pimping and prostitution; two of history's oldest professions.

Evolution? Development? Leap into the future?

Where the hell are we headed?

As we glamorize personal freedom and march to the tune of self-centered existentialism, we must remember that we need traffic lights to regulate our roads and highways, that we need brake pedals to keep the speed in check, that we need law to fight crime.

That we need morals for us to be the champions of all life form.

Jaago. Jagaao.

Hate Me; Hate You. Love Who?

It is unfortunate to witness the decadence that has befallen us. We are no more a nation, but a band of self centered, money crazed, status conscious, sex starved consumers, toiling away day in and day out to earn more, so we could live the 'American Dream'. So much for Jinnah's and Iqbal's dream: an autonomous, powerful Islamic State for Muslims.

As we spiral down towards oblivion, our inebriety soars. Baluchistan is burning and here we have the second Karachi Fashion Week. Hate springs from every collective action of the nation and we rejoice in our sodden, corrupt independence. Of course, everything is under control, crime has slumped, economy has boomed, we are respected all over the globe; let's eat and dance and make love all night long... we have earned it. We have earned it well.

Our megalomania is eating away silently at what this country was built on. Our delusion gnaws at our core. We are the greatest nation of the world. Hell, yes. Fool's paradise!

With foes with in and with out, we have a responsibility to shoulder: save ourselves and the country. And here we are, having the best time of our lives with governance administered by the able few we so lovingly and devoutely elected to rape the sanctity of the Sabz Hilali Percham.

Salam ho tum per meri qaum. Lagay raho.
Everyone is pink inside. Ain't it true?

Remember, Remember

I recently bought a book I would recommend all youth to read. Its 'Itlas e Futuhaat e Islamiyya' (Atlas of Islamic Conquests). Its in Urdu, and the publisher (Darussalam) says the first of its kind in the language.

The first page of the book starts with Iqbal's 'Kabhi aye naujawaan Muslim...'; a thought provoking poem by Allama; but it is a single Urdu sentence at the top of the page above the beautiful poem, that drives the message home in the real sense. Couldn't have been better:

"Those who forget their history, have their borders altered."

Sounds more powerful in Urdu. A truth in any language. Applies to us in every decade of our existence.

Remember, remember.
Dhaka and Kargil. And many more days of night.

Eid Mubarek

Celebrations are in order. It's Eid.
Celebrate.
But remember, celebrations are for the free and the mighty. Slaves don't celebrate. All their happiness and joy and sorrow and love and hate is incomplete. In want of freedom.
Buildings without foundations; maybe trees with no roots.
Celebrations without freedom.
Eids with no honor.
Everything half way through. Everything incomplete.

If we realize, we're going through a very special phase of our history as a nation, as a brotherhood. The unmistakable downward spiral to obvious oblivion. Special times call for special measures, as desperate times would call for desperate ones. Why don't we celebrate in a special way this year. Wear clean and good clothes, just not new ones even if you can afford them. Give them or the money to the poor. Give some serious, thoughtful, loving, nurturing advice to the young as Eidee, not money. You know what to do with it. Why not give all the meat to the poor and those who deserve it more than us this day of the year.1 Everyone knows a few in his family, or in his area or his work place. If you don't know one, shame on you. Why don't we spend this Eid with grace and dignity, no rubbish music from across the border, or for that matter our own. Why don't we remember Ibrahim and Ismail and revive our faith. 17 December is only couple of weeks away. Why don't remember what happened 38 years ago and pray and strive that it doesn't happen again; NWFP and Baluchistan and Punjab are burning after all. Why not remember Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and shed a quiet tear in remembrance and aching mourning...

What is in order. Tell me. I'm confused.
I'm lost.
I'm losing it.

Sometimes, I can not believe our mothers had sons like Bin Qasim and Tipu and Suri. Stop me if I'm wrong, but now we have Zardaris, and Maliks and more...
I always knew there was something wrong with me... It's Eid, you retard...
Ta'oos o rubaab aakhir... WTF?!

Don't worry, I'll be fine. I'll be okay. I just need a Valium. Or maybe a shot or a long deep draw of what my friends can offer me.
Or may be, I just need a good f***.

1. I hope you know there are people in this country and this world who did not have meat the last year. There are some who never had some all their lives. Trust me.

Lest You Have Doubts

Although Professor Chomsky fails to shed light on American role and interest in the region in the truest strategic sense, never the less, he speaks about the American interest in the region's resources without holding back much. Our leaders fail to say or admit even a little bit of what he does.

It is more than just resources to me.

It is "The Clash of Ideologies".

A Bundle of Sticks

Amongst ourselves, we're Sunni Deobandi, Sunni Qadri, Chishti, Shia, Isma'ilis and many more. For them we're all Muslims.

They bomb all Muslims. Guantanamo Bay and Abu-Ghuraib Detention Camps have many Shia and Sunni detainees. The one thing common in all of them is Islam.

Islam is in the cross hairs. Shia, Sunni Islam.

United we stand, divided we fall.

Think. Reflect. Act.
