Is this Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain?

We all remember the "light" side of Dr Amir Liaquat Hussain amply highlighted in the behind-the-scenes video footage leaked in August 2011. We remember the lies, the accusations; handiwork of a master charmer. We remember how he finally confessed to being nasty off-air. That pretty much says it all about his religious authenticty. You can read more about the episode on Wikipedia here, or can view the videos online.

I recently stumbled upon this image while refreshing my study on "Mehdism". The image is used on Wikipedia and can be seen here. Apparently the image has been uploaded by the actual author of the image and shows a "representative" of the Messaiah Foundation International / Mehdi Foundation International (previously Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi International) presenting a memento to famous "Sufi" qawwals Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Ghulam Farid Sabri. The representative apparently is none other than our home-grown Generation Y "scholar" Liaquat Saheb. Or maybe he is a look alike?

If it is Amir Liaquat Hussain in the image, he's not the only Generation Y "scholar" who was involved with non-Muslim preachers in their youth. Zaid Zaman Hamid is another famous Generation Y "analyst", whose involvement with Yousuf Kazzaab made it to the press, but somehow didn't make it to the primetime news.

Most probably a look alike as the picture seems too old. However, at least he made you come back to the blogging world which is good in itself!
